How to travel to Crete, or by bus, taxi or
rented car to the Hotel, see
below.
Directions:
The hotel is located at 35 km from the
airport. To reach the hotel follow these instructions:
From the airport or port in Heraklion follow the signs to the
national highway in the direction of Agios Nikolaos.
You stay on the highway for about 25 km.
Take the exit to
Chersonissos,
Kastelli and Lassithi Plateau to go off the highway.
In the end of the exit turn right in the direction Lassithi Plateau.
You
follow the road and passes the golf course.
After the golf the road splits, here you continue straight following
signs Lassithi Plateau.
You
will pass the villages
Potamies and Sfendili.
The next village is Avdou.
In
Avdou you follow the signs Odysseia Stables. The sign will let you turn
right straight after The Avdou Restaurant. This turn also has a big blue
sign saying Agia Fotienie and Cave 7 km. Follow this sign.
After Avdou Villas the
road becomes an unpaved road. Follow the signs Odysseia Stables or Agia
Fotinie.
Don’t
worry that the last 2 km to the stables is a climbing, unpaved ground
road. Any car can reach the Hotel.
On the ground road you drive underneath electricity cables, these go to
our Hotel so just follow them

How to travel to Crete.
By Air:
A direct flight to Heraklion, Kazantzakis International
Airport.
Or by plain to Athens from there with a domestic flight to Heraklion
Airport. Almost every hour there is a domestic flight in between
Athens and Crete. Domestic flights are offered by
Aegean Airlines or
Olympic Airlines.
By boat:
A ferry service in between Crete and Piraeus (Port of
Athens) is offered by
Minoan Lines and
Anek
Lines.
The ferry departs in the evening and arrives the next morning very
early. During the high season there is also an extra service during the
day.
How to travel to the Hotel.
You can reach the hotel by car,
taxi or bus.
By Rented Car:
We can arrange a rented car for you from a reliable
company. The owner of the car rental will await you on arrival in the
airport to give you the car. Prices vary according to the type of car
and the season. Ask us for prices.
Follow the directions to drive to the hotel.
By Taxi:
Taxi's are waiting directly outside arrivals.
Price to Avdou is around 50 €. Prices can vary according to type of car
or night tariff.
Not all taxi drivers are happy to drive the last 2 km. to the hotel over
the unpaved road, some ask an extra charge for this. If you want a taxi
driver who has no problem with this and who knows the hotel then call
John 0030 6936 145862. He will be waiting for you on arrival. Or let us
arrange with him for you.
By Bus:
It is possible to reach the Hotel by bus but it is not
the easiest way, as the bus stops in the center of the village Avdou,
from here it is a 3 km. (25 min.) up hill walk to the hotel over an
unpaved road. There are no taxi's waiting in the village.
For this option take the bus in Heraklion with end destination 'Lasithi
Plateau, station A, Psychro'. Step out in the village Avdou. Price is
around 5 € p/p, departure from Heraklion at 9:00 am. and
14:30 am. On Sunday only departure at 7:30 am.
A different option is to take the bus from Heraklion to Chersonissos,
the bus stops next to the taxi center. Here take a taxi to the Hotel,
distance about 15 km. The bus goes every half hour and in the season
even more times.
